Some women often develop a form of diabetes during pregnancy and are referred to as gestational diabetes. Unlike other forms, gestational diabetes usually disappears after the baby is born.

Why should check blood sugar?

Diabetes is caused by the pancreas does not produce enough insulin hormone. Insulin regulates the amount of sugar in the blood and oxygen that can accumulate unused.

What to do with diabetes in pregnancy?

Most women with gestational diabetes during pregnancy give birth are normal, healthy. However, 50% of women with gestational diabetes during pregnancy will develop into true diabetes for about 20 years later.

To minimize this risk, you need a special diet during pregnancy and afterwards.
